Belfast's worst driving habits - revealed!

A new study has revealed that drivers aged 25-34 exhibit that worst bad driving habits; 11 out of the top 12 bad habits. Teenagers and the older generation are often perceived to be the worst drivers on the road, however this new study quashes that.

The AA poll surveyed 22,000 members, with the 25-34 age group admitting that they tailgate often (71%) and brake too hard or too late (87%).

Across all age groups, 89% admitted to regularly breaking the speed limit, and almost half of those surveyed admitted that they eat or smoke while driving.

Below shows the worst driving habits for Belfast drivers:

1. Going over the speed limit - 89%

2. Braking late or hard - 79%

3. Driving while tired - 72%

4. Adjusting technology - radio/satnav etc - 72%

5. Tailgating - 57%

6. Eating or drinking - 49%

7. Sitting in middle lane when inside lane is clear - 48%

8. Not indicating when turning or changing lanes - 58%

9. Overtaking on the left - 48%

10. Rubbernecking - 47%

11. Wearing unsuitable shoes - 26%

12. Throwing rubbish out the window - 4%
